Boilerplate

Short

Weeklane is a minimalist weekly planner and to-do app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android. The weekly planner is free; Weeklane Pro adds reminders, recurring tasks, shared projects, Plan with AI, which lets Claude or ChatGPT plan your week, and Task Lock, which keeps chosen apps locked until today's tasks are done.

Long

Weeklane is a minimalist weekly planner and to-do app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, made by a small independent team in Sweden. Instead of an endless inbox or a full calendar, Weeklane shows the whole week in one view and lets people add tasks straight to a day. The weekly planner is free. Weeklane Pro adds reminders and task times, recurring tasks, connected read-only calendars, personal and shared projects, and Task Lock, introduced in Weeklane 2.5 in October 2026: the user picks distracting apps on iPhone or iPad, and they stay locked until today's tasks are checked off. Task Lock is built on Apple's Screen Time API, so Weeklane never sees which apps someone uses. Weeklane 3.0, released on 21 October 2026, added Plan with AI: people connect Claude or ChatGPT to Weeklane and let the assistant add, move and check off tasks, set reminders and control Task Lock, with every AI change listed in the app and one tap to undo it. Weeklane is available in 20 languages and was previously called Tally To Do.

The Task Lock story

Most screen-time tools work on timers, and timers are easy to dismiss. Task Lock ties the unlock to the work itself: you choose the apps that distract you, such as Instagram or TikTok, and they stay locked while today still has open tasks in Weeklane. When the last task for today is checked off, the apps unlock automatically.

Tasks scheduled for later in the day don't lock anything until their time comes, so an evening task doesn't block the morning. An optional 15-minute break can be switched on in settings, or left off for a stricter lock.

Task Lock uses Apple's Screen Time API. Apps are chosen in Apple's own system picker, the lock is enforced by iOS, and Weeklane never sees which apps you choose or how you use them. Task Lock is part of Weeklane Pro and works on iPhone and iPad; Android is planned for later.

More on Task Lock

Task Lock: locked app screen

From the team

“Most screen-time tools ask you to watch the clock. We wanted the key to be the work itself: when today's tasks are done, your apps open again. Task Lock should feel like part of a calm weekly planner, not another system to manage.”
